I had a great chat with her about her new book Dreams of Lost Buttresses – a collection of climbing related stories blending fiction and non-fiction. Heather’s book is beautifully written and lyrical. It dances on the margin between poetry and prose and contains some dazzling insights into the authors connection with the physicality of climbing and the inspiration of wild places.

Heather Dawe

In her early years Heather was a dedicated climber, focussing on pushing herself to the limits of her abilities and inching her way up the ladder of climbing grades. Motherhood and career took her away from climbing until she began to introduce her daughter to the joys of rock climbing. Through teaching her daughter Heather found her own passion for climbing re-kindled. Coming back to the sport and the outdoors she found she saw the gritstone edges and wild places through different eyes. This book reflects not only some of that passion but also the vivid imagination of someone discovering the hidden aspects of their dreams.
