I wrote a gear review about my new Scarpa Delta GTX boots almost a year ago when I had used the boots for only a few weeks. Here’s an update.

At the time I had only used the boots on a few occasions but was amazed by how waterproof they were. I’ve now had the boots over a year and in that time they have wandered through snow and over many a Scottish Highland bog.
I have been so impressed by these boots I thought it would be worth writing a short update. These boots are still as waterproof as the day I bought them. I can get them to accept a little water repellent proofing now, it just rolled off them at first, but even so they have never leaked on me, not even once.
The soles show remarkably little wear and are as “grippy”, that’s a technical term for not falling over, as they ever were.
I thought they might be a little large for me as I needed to buy a size 9 rather than my usual size 8. I can say that these boots have been comfortable from day one and have never caused me any problems. In short they are brilliant.
I can’t recommend these boots enough.
If you’d like to read more about my adventures in these boots read my book, Bothy Tales.
